They are constantly adding new exhibits that teach your child about things like simple machines or magnets.  There is also a preschool gallery created just for younger visitors. Your child can play at the water table or climb aboard a tot-sized fire engine and pretend to put out the flames. 

Universal Access Playground

On nicer days, you can usually find us at the Universal Access Playground! This incredible Ann Arbor playground was created for kids and toddlers of all abilities to come and play together. Their play equipment is fairy-themed, giving your child a little bit of magic as they build up their balance and coordination. There are sensory activities created to tap into your child’s sense of discovery. Plus, there is tons of seating, so you can relax while keeping your child in sight. 

Story Time – HSHV

If your toddler adores animals, the story time at the Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor is a total must! This space invites your child to come in and hang out with the pups. All while listening to stories and completing crafts. They also offer story time at the cat cafe. These events were created for kids ages 2-5. Because these events tend to be popular, space is limited and registration is required so be sure to sign up quickly! 

Matthaei Botanical Gardens

If you need another way to get your Ann Arbor toddlers out into nature, the Matthaei Botanical Gardens is your spot! The park is completely free to visit, and you are going to find endless things to do with your little one. Their Children’s Garden tends to be a favorite spot for younger explorers. Your child can have adventures in the nature-themed exhibits while learning about plants and animals. They also host frequent festivals where your family can discover different cultures.
